Work on the main gear channel continues
Only one work session this week, but the build team was able to get more work done on the main gear channel in anticipation of putting the main gear on very soon.
The view from below shows the rivet lines being filled…
And from the inside, the doubler pieces are making the channel very strong for support of the weight of the airplane once the gear is on. You can also see the hole where wiring will pass through underneath the pilot seat.
Floor stiffeners have also been riveted in place on the belly.
Finally this week, the firewall was deburred and put back in place and is ready for the next steps.
No work session is scheduled for the holiday weekend coming up, but next Wednesday the team will be back at it working hard to get the landing gear ready…
